Why it matters
A fit out is a construction project, not a series of separate jobs, and it needs managing as one: a programme, a budget, health and safety duties and a handover that actually reflects what was built. Where more than one contractor is involved, CDM 2015 sets out principal contractor duties for planning, managing and coordinating the construction phase, and those duties are held and discharged for the project.
