Why it matters
Planned plumbing checks catch the slow failures — a dripping tap, a slow drain, a cistern running on — before they become a reactive call or, in the case of water systems, a Legionella risk. HSG274 and the ACOP L8 guidance set out the checks a water system needs to manage that risk, and a plumbing visit is the natural point to carry them out.
ILUX runs planned plumbing checks and water hygiene monitoring on the same visit wherever the site allows, so one engineer covers both.

- Check of taps, cisterns, valves and visible pipework for leaks or wear
- Water temperature checks at sentinel outlets, per the site's water hygiene scheme

Is Legionella monitoring included or separate?
Water hygiene checks are recorded on the same visit as planned plumbing where possible. The full risk assessment sits under compliance, and the two are cross-referenced against each other.
How often are plumbing checks scheduled?
It depends on the site and what's installed — we set the interval during onboarding and can align it with your water hygiene monitoring schedule.
What if we get a leak between visits?
Log it through your client portal or the helpdesk. Leaks are treated as urgent given the potential for water damage.
