Typical faults we attend

  • Fire panel showing a fault or open zone
  • Repeated or unexplained false alarms
  • Faulty sounders, beacons or call points
  • Emergency lighting failing on test
  • Fire door closers or hold-open devices not working
  • Extinguisher damage or a missing extinguisher on site

How a call-out runs

You log the fault, we assign a priority based on what's affected, and an engineer is dispatched against the response time in your contract. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 the responsible person must keep fire safety systems maintained in efficient working order, so we make the system safe on the day where we can and report the fix, or the plan to fix it, in your client portal. See response times & coverage for how priorities are set.

Six-monthly servicing catches most panel faults first.

BS 5839-1 servicing at six-monthly intervals picks up ageing devices, battery faults and wiring issues before they become an out-of-hours call-out.

Fire alarm servicing

Common questions.

Is a fire panel fault always the top priority?

Yes, where it affects detection or the ability to raise an alarm. See response times & coverage for how each priority is defined.

Do you provide a fire watch while a fault is live?

Where the fault leaves part of a building without cover, we'll talk you through interim measures when you log the call, alongside the response time for the fix.

Will fixing the fault update our compliance records?

Yes. The completion report is logged against the site's asset register, so it lines up with your fire alarm compliance record.
