Why it matters
An intruder alarm, fire panel or CCTV system that no one is watching only tells you something happened after the fact. Routing signals to an alarm receiving centre (ARC) means an activation gets a response while it's happening, not the next morning. Where a police response is wanted, the installation needs a unique reference number (URN) and signalling that meets BS 8243 and PD 6662, so a confirmed alarm is treated as genuine rather than filtered out.
ILUX puts monitoring under the same planned contract as the servicing of the equipment it's watching, so the signal path and the alarm itself are maintained together.

How it fits a multi-site contract
Remote monitoring is usually added once servicing is already in place, so the same asset register and keyholder details already held for the site carry straight across, rather than being set up twice.

What's the difference between monitoring and servicing?
Servicing keeps the alarm equipment itself working; monitoring is the ongoing service that watches the signals it sends and responds to them. Most sites run both under the same contract.
Do we need a URN for police response?
Yes, if you want alarms to prompt a police response. It's issued once the installation and signalling meet BS 8243 / PD 6662, and we'll confirm where a site stands as part of onboarding.
Who gets called when an alarm activates?
Whoever you put on the keyholder list, contacted in the order you set. You can change the list at any time.
Can CCTV be monitored as well as intruder alarms?
Yes, where a site's CCTV is set up for it, activity can be watched live rather than only reviewed after an incident.
